DESIGNER PROFILE : - Mapitso Mokhele was born in
1984, in Matatiele in Khoapha location. She then studied at Lindiwe Khuzwayo
Fashion Academy obtaining her diploma in 2011. 2012 saw her registering her own
company Rich Couture yet now designing under the name Mapitso. Formed in
2015, this change was derived from the way every garment is uniquely put
together using a hand sewing Singer machine that holds sentimental value to her
and brings about distinct and hand-made bespoke clothing. Sewing her garments
the old-school way remains her core signature that sees a personal touch with
every thread. This is the art that goes into her every work.
